About Adam
Adam Verdin grew up in Oceano, working at his family’s Mexican restaurant, Old Juan’s Cantina.
The Verdin family opened the restaurant almost 50 years ago with their recipes and traditions from Guanajuato, Mexico.
Today, Adam and his sister Eva proudly continue this multigenerational legacy. While the cantina was central to Adam’s childhood, he also discovered his passion for aviation at the nearby Oceano Airport, becoming a pilot at 17 and a flight instructor at 19. He now serves as Chief Pilot for a corporate aviation company and was instrumental in launching Lucia Mar School District's new CTE Aviation Program.
Adam is an attorney and active community volunteer, serving on the boards of Jack’s Helping Hand, the 5Cities Homeless Coalition, the South County Chambers of Commerce, and Parks California. He also previously served as a "Big Brother" with Big Brothers Big Sisters of San Luis Obispo, as a member of the San Luis Obispo County Airport Land Use Commission, and as a board member for the Arroyo Grande Community Hospital Foundation. His wife Mary, President and CEO of her marketing firm, is also a dedicated community volunteer, involved with organizations like the Community Foundation of San Luis Obispo County and Rotary. Mary was named the SLO Chamber's Citizen of the Year for 2024.
Adam and Mary have two sons and live in Arroyo Grande.
